Description:

Who we are

Amazon is guided by four principles:

  • Customer obsession rather than competitor focus
  • Passion for invention
  • Commitment to operational excellence
  • Long-term thinking.

We are driven by the excitement of building technologies, inventing products, and providing services that change lives. We embrace new ways of doing things, make decisions quickly, and are not afraid to fail. We have the scope and capabilities of a large company, and the spirit and heart of a small one.

Amazon team

Together, Amazonians research and develop new technologies from Amazon Web Services to Alexa on behalf of our customers: shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers around the world.

Our mission is to be Earth's most customer-centric company. Our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions begin and end with the customer top of mind.

Our reduced time tech initiative

We are piloting "Reduced-Time Tech Teams" in various areas of the companies. These teams work 30 hours per week (Mon-Thurs is a common schedule) and receives the same benefits as full-time employees, with compensation proportionate to working 3/4 time.

The program aims to provide real, impactful work with the same promotion and growth opportunities of full-time teams.

This initiative was created with Amazon's diverse workforce in mind and the realization that the traditional full-time schedule may not be a "one size fits all" model. Although this is relatively new for technical job families, the concept of reduced-time employment is not new to Amazon - there are non-tech individuals who currently work a reduced 30 hour per week schedule. What is novel for Amazon is the creation of teams that are entirely comprised of reduced-time employees, including managers.

Our benefits

  • A new part time initiative for some employees
  • Competitive salaries
  • 100% health insurance
  • 20 weeks parental leave
  • The latest equipment
  • Home working stipend
  • And much more
